If Valentine’s Day is your travel day leave in plenty of time to save rushing and causing en route arguments with your partner; airports will be extremely busy. Book ‘meet and greet’ parking at the airport, a much less stressful way of starting your holiday and very little price difference when compared with off airport parking – discounts available to Ski Club members. If you find yourself alone, meet up, and ski with the Ski Club Rep in resort*; they will be instant company, find great snow and know the best restaurants for lunch and you can even join them for their evening ‘social hour’, another chance to meet new faces. Get up early to miss the morning queues, or alternatively, have a long lazy lie in and start up the mountain after the morning rush. Take a picnic into the mountains to avoid crowded and expensive mountain restaurants: romantic and saves money. Propose on the slopes, never a more romantic setting. If you are single, a ski holiday can be the perfect way to meet a partner. Ski Freshtracks (skifreshtracks.co.uk) have some holidays specifically for single skiers. They are ideal for meeting people as each holiday is graded by ski ability and is a very sociable experience. If you cannot escape to the slopes, log on to the chat forum at skiclub.co.uk, you might find the partner you’ve been looking for. And finally It’s ok to have a crush, but DO NOT fall in love with your ski instructor! *Ski Club reps based in 35 resorts around the Alps and North America - skiclub.co.uk The Ski Club of Great Britain The Ski Club of Great Britain is a not-for-profit organisation aimed at making snowsports cheaper and more accessible and is open to all skiers and snowboarders.
