Ski Club snow reports
now live as ski season starts with a
bang With heavy snowfalls blanketing the
mountains and more snow and low
temperatures forecast, it is a fantastic
start to the ski season in both the Alps
and North America.
Many resorts have already opened early
including Livigno in Italy and
Whistler in Canada. Big White in Canada
is due to open this Thursday, 10
days earlier than planned. Other
stand-out resorts include Val Senales in
Italy which has had 70cm of new snow and
Mammoth in California which has
had ridiculous amounts of snow - seven
feet since the weekend.
Several resorts including Ischgl and
Lech in Austria and Val d'Isère and
Les Deux Alpes in France are opening
this weekend, with the season really
kicking off on the first weekend of
December as the majority of resorts
open up for the winter. Cairngorm in
Scotland is also open for skiing with
good early season conditions.
The Ski Club of Great Britain's snow
reports are reporting exceptional
conditions this week with heavy snow
falling as we speak in many resorts.
"With significant snowfalls in both
Europe and North America already, many
resorts are reporting that this is the
best start to the season for a long
time. It is currently snowing hard in
many European resorts and in the USA and
Canada it doesn't seem to have stopped
snowing!" said Al Morgan, Information
Manager at the Ski Club of Great
Britain.
The Ski Club of Great Britain's snow
reports, the most reputable and accurate
in the industry, report snow conditions
on a daily basis. The reports are
collated by a dedicated snow reporting
team at the Ski Club's headquarters who
report on 252 resorts worldwide,
including 34 Ski Club resorts where
daily snow reports are sent back by Ski
Club Leaders all who have skied in the
resort that day.
The Ski Club's weekly Snowcast, a snow
and news video podcast, gives a succinct
overview of worldwide snow conditions.
For people planning their holidays, the
