Although arguably the most beautiful lake in Italy, Lago Maggore or
ifyou prefer Lake Maggore also washes up in Switzerland. In fact along
its shores are some of that countrys major summer resort areas. The
names Locarno and Ascona spring quickly to mind. Nonetheless it is
officially Italys lake. Perhaps thats why they call it Lago Maggore.
Maggore boasts many promonent and popular Italian destinations in the provinces of Lombardy andPiedmont;
both homes to the gentle lapping shores of Maggore.
There are, naturally enough, all types of accommodation all around the lake, both in Italy and Switzerland.
Laggo Maggore is the ideal place for a vacation and it is very much a "you pays your money and you takes your choice situation."
